A dad and his son were left disappointed by the 'stingy' prizes in a lucky dip his local pub was offering.

The Sydney man forked out $4 to get his kids a lucky dip bag thinking there would be an assortment of treats and lollies. 

However, the family were left dismayed to find a Mintie, a Mentos, a chewy candy, a hard lolly as well as a spinning top that doesn't work. 

The dad said he wasn't expecting much from the $4 novelty but thought there would be at least a 'handful of gummies' for his kids to enjoy. 

'Obviously, these things are never a 'good deal' and you're paying for the novelty but this is just taking the absolute piss. This is what, 10c worth of contents?' he ranted in a Reddit post.

'A spinning top that doesn't even work and a couple of hard candies and mints that most kids don't like?'

The dad tried to ease his son's disappointment by letting him eat half of the dessert he ordered. 

'I figured it would be a handful of gummies or Yummy slim Bewertungen something, you know, that a kid would actually want,' he said. 

'I did have a polite word to the staff who said they'd pass it on to management. But this is the first time I'm this blown away by something like this.'

Hundreds replied to the complaint with many agreeing the prize was a 'rip off' while others saw the funny side.
